A 9-year-old boy has been taken to hospital following a collision with a car on Easter Drylaw Place this morning.
It’s understood the boy was making his way to school when the collision happened just before 8.50am.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the youngster was taken to the Sick Kids hospital for treatment.
Part of the road remains closed to allow police to carry out their investigation.
It’s believed his injuries are not life threatening.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Police in Edinburgh were called to Easter Drylaw Place around 8.50am on Wednesday 26 September following a report of a collision between a Volkswagen Polo and a pedestrian.
“A nine-year-old boy has been taken to the Sick Kids with a serious head injury, and enquiries are ongoing.”
