Spartans welcomed Vale of Leithen to a wet Ainslie Park on Friday night in a GeoSonic Lowland League match.
Vale centre half, Paul Dickson, and Scott Wilson made the return to face their former side.
Spartans had a chance to take the lead in the opening minutes when Jason Stevens got on the of a long forward ball, he beat the keeper to it but his shot went wide of the target.

The big striker did find the net just minutes later after a tricky run by Alan Brown saw him burst into the box and round the keeper before squaring to Stevens who placed the ball in the empty net.
Spartans were in control of the match and doubled their lead on the half-hour mark when Brown picked the ball up on the edge of the before showing great skill to curl it into the top corner of the net with a terrific strike.
Before the half-time break Spartans made it three nil when Adam Corbett was left unmarked for a corner and he had the simple job of nodding the ball into the net.
Goals in the second half from Michael Herd and a brace from Stephen MacDonald secured all three points for the Ainslie Park side.
