Save Our Secret Garden! Exhibition from 18th March – 3rd April
Photographs, maps and plans ‘past and present’ from the walled garden and surrounding land on the Waterfront are now being displayed in North Edinburgh Arts café. The latest ‘news’ on our community campaign to save the garden from demolition and development.
Where is the garden?

Why should it be saved?
How can you help?
The listed walled garden and its fertile unpolluted land is incredibly rare and unusual on the Waterfront, but it is at risk from development unless everyone works together.
The inspiration for the North Edinburgh Arts exhibition came from a recent workshop the Friends Group took part in at Edinburgh College of Art. The food growing history of Edinburgh, its markets and what was eaten. We have compiled lots of images and research on the past land use of the waterfront area, in and around the walled garden. 500 years is a long timeline! Who worked in the garden and what did they grow?
It’s hoped this small exhibition of pictures past and present, will help spur local interest, and attract more Friends Group members and support to help us safeguard and restore the Oldest Walled Garden in Edinburgh.
A special Thank you goes to the staff from North Edinburgh Arts for helping put this together.
