Dear Editor,
As a local resident in Pilton I am seriously concerned about the number of teenagers racing around the neighbourhood on motorbikes.
Every single night for the past week, and more, our street has been plagued by them at all times of the day and night.
It doesn’t matter how often you call the police they don’t seem to attend and from what I hear they are powerless as they don’t chase them as most of the time these kids don’t have helmets on.
One kid lost his life just a few months ago and another kid suffered horrific injuries in a crash about two years ago.
You would think that would be enough to put these folk of joyriding but it doesn’t!
Last year they launched Stronger North but where is that now?
You don’t hear anything about what they are doing to help get this problem sorted.
It’s only a matter of time before these joyriders kill an innocent member of the community, then where will we be?
What will the authorities say then?
This is a time bomb and needs to be resolved quickly before an innocent person is killed.
