As part of Police Scotland’s #StrongerNorth Campaign, local officers are robustly pursuing those currently wanted on outstanding warrants issued by the court.
In the past month alone, 129 warrant arrests have been made across North Edinburgh, the youngest of these being a 15-year-old male. A number of these warrants were issued for crimes of violence, housebreaking and hate crime.
Over the weekend, a further four men aged between 32 and 41 and a 35-year-old woman were arrested on warrant. One of the men apprehended was wanted on five separate warrants.
Enforcement activity will continue as Police Scotland and partner agencies will look to tackle the issues adversely affecting communities in the North of the Capital and bring those responsible for all forms of criminal activity to justice as quickly as possible.
