Spartans and Hibs shared the spoils in an enthralling match at Meadownbank yesterday.
First half goals from Sarah Clelland and Robyn McCafferty gave Debbi McCulloch’s side the advantage going in at the interval.
Hibs pulled one back when Eilidh Adams was fouled in the box by Dion McMahon, who received a red card for the challenge – Jorian Baucom stepped up to convert the spot kick.
The game was levelled in injury time when Spartans didn’t clear a corner and Brooke Nunn fired the ball into the net to level the game.
After the game Spartans gaffer the Spartans gaffer said: “The only feeling I have after that is a sense of pride.
“We controlled the game in the first half and we really limited Hibs.
“Ultimately a decision has taken the game away from us.
“I’ve watched it back on the video and I don’t believe it is a sending off and we will appeal that decision.
“However, I’m delighted to get something out of the game because it could have easily gone the other way.”
