Pilton Community Health Project (PCHP) has launched an online petition in a bid to secure one year’s funding.
It’s hoped that any stay of execution would allow the board time to “find new ways of sustaining the life-changing work that we do in our community.”
A decision to cut funding by the Edinburgh Integrated Joint Board (EIJB) last week means that the project will most certainly close come March next year.
Over one hundred people protested outside the City Chambers during last week’s EIJB meeting and despite the project’s deputation the decision wasn’t changed and the funding was axed.
The online petition has already gathered around 200 signatures since being published online yesterday.
You can visit the petition page by clicking here.
A community led campaign will be launched early in the New Year to tackle funding cuts to community projects in our area – you can read more on that here.
We will continue to keep local people updated on the campaign as soon as we have more details on it.
