Civil Service Strollers had to come from a goal behind to earn a point in yesterday’s Lowland League game away to Gala Fairyedean Rovers yesterday.
Matthew Show headed Gary Jardine’s men in front when he was allowed to roam free in the hosts box for a corner. The big defender guided his effort beyond the keeper who was stuck on his line.
The home side looked dangerous breaking forward and were level after former Hibs player, Danny Galbraith fired in a cross and Tom Findlay turned the ball into his own net from close range.
Shortly after the interval, the Civil found themselves trailing after Kieran Dolan fired the hosts ahead with a terrific strike from 30 yards out sailed into the net leaving the Strollers keeper with no chance.
Both sides had chances but both keepers pulled out terrific stops.
However, just as it looked like the home side would take all three points, Civil levelled late on when Josh Laing was first to react to a loose ball in the box and the youngster prodded the ball over the line.
Elsewhere a Cammie Russell double and an early goal from Paul Wilson secured a vital three points for Spartans as they welcomed Clyde to Ainslie Park.
Despite the 3-2 win the game was overshadowed by a serious injury to Watson who was taken to hospital for treatment.
In today’s early game at Muirhouse Civil Service Strollers u15s had to come from behind against Musselburgh Athletic to pick up all three points.
The wind did its best to spoil the game but both teams still managed to put on a fine display. The local side dominated the second half and were worthy winners with a convincing 6-4 win.
Hearts were the visitors to Ainslie Park for this afternoon’s SWPL league game.
A brace without reply from Sade Adamolekun secured three points for Eva Olid’s side.
