Two local football club recorded wins to take them into cup finals yesterday.
Civil Service Strollers are through to the South Challenge Cup Final after beating Lowland League club Whitehill Welfare.
Civil had the better of the first half and wasted a few chances.
Both teams went in at half time level but Dayne Robertson fired Civil ahead fro the penalty spot after the Whitehill keeper fouled the striker.
Over the fence at Craigroyston the Amateurs hosted Heriot Watt in the League Cup semi final.
The home side had to dig deep and two goals from ‘Gums’ and one each from Daz Chris and Doodey ensure Craigie sailed into the final. Winning 5-3.
Craigies Sean Gardiner said “I am thrilled with that result.
“To rise from being the new guys in the Edinburgh Central league in our first season to being in a final and two wins away from promotion is great.”
“I couldn’t ask for a better bunch of guys to manage and a better club to represent.”
