Local A-listed mansion which hosted celebrity hen weekend undamaged following blaze

A local A-listed mansion has not been damaged following a fire last night.

Emergency services were alerted to a building “beside” Drylaw House being ablaze just after 5.30pm but have confirmed today that the historic building was not damaged.

Around 20 firefighters attended the incident at the Queen Anne mansion and left the scene at around 7.40pm.

The house, which hosted singer Ellie Goulding’s hen weekend, is set in five acres of secluded grounds.

The building is currently used as a luxury holiday let, sleeping 24 people with 10 bedrooms on site.

It is set within five acres of private ground and is often used to host large events.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Our first appliance arrived at the scene at 5.47pm.

“The fire was not in the main building but near it. The main building has not been damaged.

“No one was injured and our crews stood down at 7.40pm.”

Drylaw House have been approached for comment.
