Hibs ladies booked their place in the second round of the SWPL cup with a win in today’s Edinburgh derby after beating Hearts 1-0 at Ainslie Park.
Kirsten Reilly scored the only goal of the game with a terrific strike from a full twenty five yards out saw the ball rocketed into the top corner, just on the stroke of half time.
Hibs had the best of the chances and the majority of the possession in the second half and go into the draw for the next round.
Elsewhere Spartans cruised through to the next round of the same cup with a comfortable 4-0 win over Hamilton away from home.
Goals from Tegan Reynolds, Louise Mason and a Beth McKay double ensured Debbie McCulloch’s team will be in the draw for round two.
