The Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre welcomed their new Warm Hub co-ordinator, Sara Collins, last week as their new service launched on Sunday.
The warm hub will run for three months and offer local people the chance to pop along to take part in some activities while getting a nice lunch, cuppa or evening meal.
These sessions are open to everyone in the community and it’s hoped that locals of all ages will pop along and take part in their sessions.
We caught up with Sara to find more about this new project and how local people can get involved.
She said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming people into the centre to take part in the warm hub activities.
“These sessions will be open to everyone and we will have activities for children, a chill-out zone for older kids and create a really nice space for people to come together.
“We will be doing dinners three nights a week in the centre where people can come along and have a meal and meet new people from the community in a nice warm environment.”
As well as the evening sessions the centre has launched a daily coffee morning which will run Monday to Friday from 9.30-10.30am.
If you want to find out more about the warm hub at Drylaw or are interested in volunteering with them please call Sara at the centre on 315-4989.
