Coastguard teams were called to Silverknowes beach tonight after a child got into difficulty in the water.
Teams from Queensferry and Fisherrow and the Queensferry Lifeboat along with the Specialist Ambulance Response Team were scrambled just after 5pm.
The child managed to get ashore before they arrived and is currently being checked over by the Scottish Ambulance Service at the scene.
