Local side Civil Service Strollers bounced back to winning ways on Saturday with a terrific win against Cumbernauld Colts at Christie Gillies Park.
Gary Jardine’s men suffered a defeat in midweek away in Dumbartaon against Broomhill, so getting back to winning ways was important for the Muirhouse club.
The visitors got off to a flying start and took the lead in the first when a strike from close range nestled in the net.
Both sides had chances but the home side went in at the interval a goal down.
In the second half Strollers were quick out the traps and leveled the game when Innes Lawson broke away from the defender and prodded the ball beyond the advancing keeper – much to the delight of the home support.
Civil then dominated the game and Lawson bagged his second of the game with a perfectly placed header from close range that left the Colts keeper rooted to the spot.
In stoppage time Kris Amponsha sealed the victory with a stunning strike from a full 25 yards out that sailed into the net to give the Strollers all three points.
