A child has been hit by a vehicle outside a busy city primary school.
The incident, which happened at around 2.50pm, saw police and ambulance crews rush to Ferryhill Primary School on Groathill Road North where a five-year-old boy was treated at the scene.
The child, who sustained a minor injury, was then taken to Royal Hospital for Sick Children
One Mothers who witnessed the accident said ” It was an accident waiting to happen and it is not the first time we have had an accident here. Parents and motorosts should be reminded of the importance of safety around roads especially near to schools”
“The child was taken to the Sick Kids Hospital to be treated for a minor injury.
“Police are continuing with their enquiries.”
A similar accident happened back in 2012 when a 5yr old was knocked down by a car outside the school
